Hamstring Pull
Hamstring injuries are one of the most common sports related injuries especially in activities that require sudden acceleration. The hamstring muscles are a group of large muscles that travel down the back of the leg from the pelvis to the tibia.  This powerful muscle group is primarily responsible for knee flexion and hip extension.

Other than direct trauma, hamstring injuries occur when the muscle is stressed during an eccentric contraction. Eccentric contractions are classified as an event that creates muscle lengthening while the muscle is trying to contract.  These contractions are the primary causes of all muscle strains.
