Last week we gave you all the chance to ask CrossFit Games Veteran, Christy Adkins any question you’d like. Below are her answers!

Christy Adkins AMA

How did you get started in CrossFit? – @omarcorrea
In the Spring of 2007, I was finishing up my degree in exercise physiology and I started working as a personal trainer at a “globo” gym in DC. The head trainers, Melody and John, introduced me to CrossFit. I loved it right away. Melody now owns CrossFit MPH and is a good friend of mine. John Main is a head coach at a San Francisco area gym and has been my CrossFit Games coach for years now!
If you had to choose two celebrities to be your parents, who would they be and why? – @jackiem1014
Dana Torres, Olympic gold medalist in swimming because of her longevity in her sport- good genes! 😉 Malcolm Gladwell because I love his insights on social psychology, he would always be able to remind me of the “Talent Myth” plus he has been clocked running a sub-5 mile!
Where’s the craziest place you’ve worked out? – Corey M.
I’ve worked out in some amazing places around the country and world but I’d have to say my favorite travel workout memory is when my husband and I were on our honeymoon and we got to workout in Christchurch, New Zealand at the Franks Brothers’ Gym WITH Ben and Owen Franks who are pro rugby players on the best team in the world- the New Zealand All Blacks.
You are a veteran when it comes to the CrossFit Games, so what over the years has changed the most about your own training? – @benjaminJillson
I would have to say that the thing that has changed the most about my training is the amount of time I spend at the gym most days. CrossFit began as a hobby and fun way to fulfill my competitive outlet and has evolved to currently being an incredibly rewarding career! I am training about 4 hours a day on average rather than the 1 hour a day that I started with. I feel fortunate to know that I will always be able to have CrossFit as part of my lifelong fitness when I am ready to go back to 1 hour a day.
What are you hoping to accomplish in the 2016 season? -Marcy B.
My goal is to compete as an individual athlete at the 2016 CrossFit Games. I am thrilled to have qualified to Regionals so I am training hard for that next step to get to the games.
Who would you say influenced you most in deciding to start CrossFit? -@hannahgoodwin
When I saw Tanya Wagner compete at the CrossFit Games in 2008 after having met her at a local competition a few months earlier, I was inspired! It pushed me to want to compete in the sport!
What is your favorite cheat meal? – Travis W.
Cornbread with BBQ, ice cream and pizza 🙂
