Mark Rustan

Chief Human Resources Officer

Born and raised in Iowa. Played baseball in college.

Joined Airrosti in November of 2021.

As the Chief Human Resources Officer I have overall responsibility for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, organizational and performance management, training and development and benefits administration.

Prior to joining Airrosti, I was in public education for 25 years in campus and district leadership. While working for Northside Independent School District my areas of focus were to provide overall leadership and guidance by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training and leadership development efforts.

My wife Kim and I have three adults boys… Harrison, Grant and Hayden who are all in college. We also have 4-legged children… we are a dog family and have a pack of four! We enjoy traveling, snow skiing and attending sporting events. Some of our other interests include gardening, attending the Majestic Theatre and listening to live music of all kinds.

I have a BA in Education from University of Northern Iowa, an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Graduate degree in Central Office Leadership/Superintendency from University of Texas at San Antonio.

BEST PART OF WORKING AT AIRROSTI?

The people. The strength of any organization lies in the quality of people within the organization. It is amazing to see the unyielding passion evident in the greater Airrosti family day in and day out. Either you are helping our patients become pain free or you are supporting those helping our patients become pain free… either way, the drive and zeal is present and makes you want to be the very best version of you so that our patients can become the very best version of them.

PASSIONS OUTSIDE OF WORK?

My biggest passion is my family. As a father of 3 boys there’s no greater joy in life than to watch them succeed in their individual life pursuits. The most important legacy that exists is being an active participant in who your children become. I am beyond blessed to be able to support my warrior wife in our life journey – her fierce passion for family makes the rest of us better every day!

ONE THING I HAVEN’T DONE BUT WOULD LIKE TO?

There are two things I’ve always wanted to do in life… sky dive and become a Navy SEAL. But, life took me down a different path and my chance to become a SEAL has long since passed leaving me with sky diving. I am a HUGE fan of extreme roller coasters – the faster and steeper the better, so I can only imagine the thrill of sky diving… while imagining myself a SEAL being inserted behind enemy lines.
