The human spine is a complex structure of bones supported by muscles, nerves, ligaments, and tendons. The segments of our spine are cushioned with cartilage-like pads called discs. Injuries or dysfunctions with any of these components can lead to back pain.
Back pain can come from a traumatic injury or develop into a chronic condition over time, lasting for months or even years. Chronic back pain can cause long-term restrictions in your overall mobility and quality of life.
Several injuries commonly associated with back pain include:
Discomfort in the upper and mid back pain is commonly caused by overuse, muscle strain, injury, poor posture, or herniated discs. One of the most common culprits of upper and mid back pain is a musculoskeletal condition called Upper Cross Syndrome.
Problems in the lower back can be caused by a variety of injuries and imbalances in the complex structure of the spine. Many people experience a low back injury from improper lifting techniques or after sitting with an excessive arch in the low back. Nerve entrapment and muscular imbalances in the hips can also contribute to low back pain. These issues often develop into painful conditions like sciatica and Lower Cross Syndrome.
Although the causes of back pain may be different depending on location and type of injury, most back injuries share similar symptoms, including:
Pain symptoms are more common the older you get, and your risk of long-term injury is increased by lack of physical activity or by carrying extra weight. Certain repetitive activities may also affect your recovery time, such as lifting, pushing, or sitting for extended periods of time.

I have tried two other chiropractors in the last 4 months, and at least 20 visits. Dr. Bodziony has done a miracle in just a few visits. I have no more pain in my back, neck, or shoulders. I can tie my shoes and get up off the floor without grabbing on to anything. He's absolutely the best!

I have been to Airrosti in the past for a previous injury. So, when I hurt my back again, I knew I needed the Airrosti team again. I limped in last week because I was in so much pain. I couldn’t stand for long because the shooting pains went down my legs. I couldn’t bend and I could barely twist my waist. In one session, I was 85% better! After my first session I was able to stand and sit with minimal pain. Although I still couldn’t bend completely, within a few days, the pain was almost entirely gone. I had one last session just to get the last kinks out of my back, and now I feel great! I’m so thankful for Drew and Julie who helped me. They are very kind and the results speak for themselves! I can’t recommend this place enoug...+ show moreh.

I came to see Dr. Hoyt with low back and hip issues from long hours sitting for my job and lack of exercise. Walking was more of a shuffle and extremely painful. I was diagnosed 10 year ago with arthritis in my knee. Dr. Hoyt discovered very quickly that my back and hip issues were the result of compensating for my knee. He worked on me and had some exercises for me to do between appointments. He also had an MRI done which showed deterioration in my knee and referred me to an Osteopathic Surgeon. I will eventually need the knee replaced but I am so thankful to be active and comfortably mobile again. After just a few weeks I am back to walking normally and controlling the back pain on my own using the exercises I was taught.

I visited Airrosti for neck and back pain that has been persistently bothering me for many years. Dr Bonk took a lot of time to find the exact points of my pain and helped me to understand the best ways to help not only alleviate this pain but to help prevent future chronic episodes. After one visit the pain was noticeably decrease by half. After my third visit the pain was all but gone. Each appointment with Dr. Bonk, followed by 20 to 30 minutes with Amanda who gave great instruction on how to remedy any reoccurring pain and simple at home exercises that strengthen the troubled areas to help prevent or lessen the reoccurring issue. Great people, very affordable and highly recommend for immediate pain relief and realistic at home exerci...+ show moreses for any age group or body type.

I came in with chronic back pain, constantly bandaiding the pain with small fixes but never fixing it. Picking up kids or lifting weights always reset the pain. Dr. St. Dizier helped me understand how our muscles connect and what types of exercises will stretch and strengthen the right things. I always felt like I was in good hands, with the right level of explanation, and support. Highly recommend you book time with him.
