Your neck is made up of many components, such as ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Because the neck has an extensive range of motion, it is susceptible to many injuries and painful conditions. In addition, the neck’s ability to function properly is directly tied to many other muscle groups, like the shoulder, back, and chest.
Additionally, if neck pain is left untreated, it can become chronic. Chronic neck pain can present itself as pain, stiffness, and soreness in the neck, perhaps with decreased mobility, that lasts more than several weeks.
One of the most common causes of neck pain is injury to the soft tissues, including the neck muscles, tendons, and ligaments within these structures. Individuals who spend most of their day sitting at work, or doing sedentary activities, have a high-risk factor for developing this condition. The risk is increased especially high for those who sit in poor posture, with the head in a flexed forward position.
In addition to muscle strains and sprains, several other common neck pain causes, such as herniated discs, Osteoarthritis (developing from the wear and tear of cartilage and bones), as well as rheumatoid arthritis. In some cases, this condition may also be caused by an injury to the cervical spine, cervical disc degeneration disease, or other injuries that put pressure on the nerve roots.
Symptoms may include:
Recurring neck pain can not only affect other parts of your body, but other aspects of your life. It can influence your sleeping habits, your ability to work, and even your mental wellbeing. People with severe chronic pain are more likely to have other areas of their life affected, such as social activities, and may spend excessive amounts of money seeking various treatments.
Traditional neck pain treatment may include over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), massages, or some form of physical therapy. A physical therapist might use several methods to treat neck pain such as heat, ice, or braces.
More severe cases may require steroid injections. If worse comes to worst, surgery may be recommended by your doctor to correct severe neck pain or injuries, especially those that may be spine related.
Chronic neck pain can be debilitating and hinder your quality of life. Airrosti providers are trained to evaluate and identify the cause of your pain. They also create a customized treatment plan to help you start on the road to neck pain relief.
If you have found yourself suffering from unresolved neck pain, call Airrosti at (800) 404-6050 to learn how we can resolve your pain or schedule your appointment now!

After heavy workout sessions, I would have sharp pains in my neck and upper back. Dr. Alvarado was able to identify the root cause of the pain, show me stretches to relieve the pain and stretches to keep the pain from reoccurring. It only took 2 sessions to relieve the pain, and 1 more follow up session to keep the pain from coming back.

Dr. Garza is absolutely amazing! I was having horrible neck pain, and barely any range of motion. My brother-in-law referred me to Airrosti, I made an appt with Dr. Garza, and after just one appointment I felt SO much better! This was my very first time going to a chiropractor but Dr. Garza was very thorough and transparent about the whole process and clear on what to expect, which I really appreciated. At first, he suggested it might take 4-5 sessions to address my neck pain, but after the first appointment I've only had to go back one more time, and I feel like a whole new person. I would highly recommend Airrosti, and more specifically Dr. Garza!

I am a high school teacher and the last few years have been super stressful. About a month ago, I woke up with neck and shoulder pain but just assumed it was stress and would go away in a few days. About a month later, I was in so much pain that I could barely make it through the day. A friend suggested Airrosti and luckily that day Dr Moore had an opening. It only took her about 15 minutes to figure out what was wrong and begin a treatment plan. The treatment was quick and her rehab specialist, Laura taught me my exercises during the visit. Both explained everything to me in detail and answered all of my questions. I progressed exactly how Dr Moore explained. By the time I returned for my next visit a week later, I was feeling SO much b...+ show moreetter. She followed up with another treatment session and gave me more rehab exercise to work on. I can’t believe how much better I feel after only two visits! I would highly recommend Dr Moore to anyone experiencing pain. She is AMAZING!!!

Came in with excruciating neck/shoulder pain and Dr. Moore solved it completely in two sessions. Scheduling was very easy, she was extremely professional and knew exactly what the trouble was. I will always go to Airrosti first before anywhere else when I have pain. Dr. Moore especially is an expert!

My doctor recommended Airrosti after telling her about some chronic neck and shoulder pain that I’ve been having for years. I’m so glad I took up her recommendation and gave Airrosti a try. After one visit with Dr. Garza and his staff, I was already feeling an improvement. By the end of my treatments, I felt like a had a normal range of motion again. I’m glad I have found a new solution to dealing with my neck pain. Thanks!

Airrosti has been a Godsend for my pain. I have a degenerative disc in my neck along with Fibromyalgia and arthritis in one knee. I am still a current patient but a work in progress. My pain has reduced significantly since seeing Dr. Hurt and Dr. Rose!!

I was unable to turn my head from side to side or up and down. It was having significant neck and shoulder pain when driving, sleeping, and while at work. I set up an appointment very quickly to see Dr. Garza. His treatment and exercise plan made a significant difference within 24 hours of my visit. My pain and range of motion dramatically improved after 48 hours. I had a follow-up visit one week later. I now have a full range of motion and no pain. Thank you so much, Dr. Garza.

I have had chronic neck, shoulder, and upper back pain due to bad posture and work involving sitting in front of the computer for more than 40-50 hours per week. Dr. Garza really listened and worked on the problem right from the first visit. I saw 25 % improvement with each visit, which was incredible and unexpected. The rehab exercises recommended are very easy to do and provide significant pain relief in-between visits and help in maintaining long-term results post-treatment. Definitely recommend Airrosti and Dr. Garza!

Dr. Wu and PT Kaitlyn helped me to get back to performing daily activities with minimal discomfort! Due to 30+ years of running, cycling, and weight lifting, I developed osteoarthritis in my lumbar and cervical regions. While the surgery was the only option for my neck, I was told by my surgeon that I did not yet need any procedure on my low back. Good news, but the pain, tingling, and weakness were impacting my lifestyle including my job as an acute care nurse in an Orthopedic unit. Dr. Wu kneaded out knots I never knew existed and loosened up the muscles and ligaments that support my spine. The physical therapist would give me the tools to maintain and strengthen my back. I've made two visits to Airrosti over the last three years for various neck and back pain. I often recommend them to anyone dealing with pain, regardless of where it is or where it came from. Dr. Powell (in 2019) and Dr. Garza (in 2021) listened thoroughly to the description of the pain I was feeling and worked diligently to fix the issues. The therapists then take the time to show the exercises and apply any tape. The process is very efficient. For all six visits, I was in and out in under an hour. Although I hope to avoid pain over the years and not see the Airrosti people often, it is comforting to know that they are close by if needed.

I've had neck and shoulder pain that caused headaches since I was16 years old. I went to regular massage therapists, and chiropractors, but nothing fixed my problem. Within a week, I needed to go back for another adjustment. I decided to give Airrosti a try. Dr. Bonk walked me through everything and made me feel super comfortable. After my first session, we discovered that my issues were actually related to my posture, but more specifically the muscles around my clavicles that were preventing me from having proper posture. In two more sessions, I was "fixed". The exercises he gave me keep the tension away when I need them, but I haven't had a tension headache since. I literally can't believe it. 14 years of pain, and in three sessions I ...+ show morewas better. Unbelievable! Thanks Dr. Bonk and team. You changed my life.

I am 59 years old and had a biking accident about 6 weeks ago. I fell on the concrete and hit hard on my left hip. I tried to roll to my left to get up and couldn't endure the pain. I had to roll to my right and use my bike to pull myself up. I went to my primary care physician and they did the usual steroid shot and asked if I wanted steroid pills as well. I am not one for taking a lot of pills so I opted for the steroid shot and said I am ok. About a week later my pain was worse and had moved into my neck as well. I decided to try Arrositi as I had a tennis elbow repaired a few years back by this method. I have been so impressed by Dr. Barnett and his staff. I am getting better quickly with PT solutions created to assist me in my recov...+ show moreery. I am very happy I made this choice and to find Dr. Barnett. I highly recommend his practice.

I was referred by my primary doctor, as I had horrible pain in my upper right trap and neck for a year. I was able to get relief from the first appointment with Dr. Woytek. He is amazing!! I like to call him the “miracle doctor”! After only a few treatments, my pain was under control and relieved immensely. I continue to go just for maintenance and can do all the things I was debilitated from for over a year. Thank you Airrosti and Dr. Woytek!

Dr. Monika helped me understand and treat my chronic neck pain. I had only ever been given quick fixes for my neck but Dr. Monika not only treated my pain but set me up with tools to ensure that I stay out of pain long term. I really am grateful to her for helping me with something that was an issue for me for years.

I am a BJJ practitioner and strained my neck at practice. It was difficult for me to turn my head to the left without pain that spread down to between my shoulder blades. I have done the office visit before with a different injury but did not have time to take off for an office visit. So I decided to try out the remote recovery from my work office. Dr. Danisiewicz evaluated me via televisit and was able to diagnose and send me the exercises to help alleviate the pain. After one week of doing the exercises the pain had gone down and I was able to turn more to the left almost aligned with my shoulder. For the second week doctor adjusted my exercise treatment and today was my last appointment, after two weeks the pain has gone and I am now ...+ show moreable to turn completely to the left aligned with my shoulder. This program works whether you are in the office or at home with the televisit, you just have to put in the work.

Sitting behind the computer all day was causing some neck pain and stiffness in my upper back. After signing up with Airrosti and getting the equipment and training needed the range of motion on my neck has improved tremendously. My shoulders and upper back feel relaxed and less tense. I would highly recommend Airrosti to all my friends. Thank you Dr. Offenburger for all your help.

I have been going to Chiro for 9 plus years after experiencing neck and shoulder pain along with migraines. It has given me temporary relief, but never fully fixed the issue. After three weeks of Airrosti work, I finally feel tension releasing and am not in pain doing normal tasks like I was. I have learned how to carry myself and exercise properly to stay out of pain. It has been a lifesaver for an active mom of 5. I cannot say enough good about my experience with Megan and Morgan. They are amazing!

Dr. Friendt is literally the best Doctor of Chiropractics I have ever worked with. That's saying a lot since I have seen many of them with mixed results and am turning 50 this year. I have recurring shoulder, and neck pain related to posture. After one or two sessions he has me feeling so much better and I cannot recommend him highly enough. I have referred countless people to him, and consider him a friend. Not only is he an incredibly talented and knowledgeable DC, but he also is a fabulous human being, and he really cares about his patients and always goes above and beyond. He is adored by all his clients. All I can say that if you are suffering from pain and you want to go see a DC, go see him ASAP. Went in for pain and tightness behind the right ear and neck area. Joe did a wonderful job listening and taking care of my problem. He had me pain-free in a very short time. Excellent provider.

I highly recommend Dr. Levick if you are seeking a different option of reducing or resolving neck and back pain (spasms). The stretching and strengthening techniques used, taught and provided, were key to my positive results. I am able to move more freely...not having to deal with that pain on a daily basis. If you want a doctor who listens and cares about you and your situation, my suggestion is to make an appointment with Dr. Levick.

I had been having pain in my neck and shoulder for the last 5 years. The pain would come and go, but for the past year it came and did not go. I went to a highly recommended sports medicine doctor and he sent me for an MRI. The MRI didn't reveal much except normal degenerative disks. The doctor refereed me to a specialist for cortisone shots. He told me if the shots didn't help then I should consider surgery to replace the disks in my neck. I did not receive the cortisone shots, instead I went to see another doctor and they assured me they could fix my pain. They made me pay up front for 30 treatments and refused to run my insurance. I was desperate so I paid the $4000. I would get some relief when I left there, but the pain always retur...+ show morened. I was ready to give up and call the first doctor back and schedule the surgery when I came across an add on social media for Airrosti. I watched a video for upper cross syndrome and it sounded like what I was experiencing so I made an appointment. The first treatment I received was very painful and I wasn't sure if it had helped. I was still in pain, but now I was hurting in other places. Dr.Bodziony had a confidence about her that I respected and my intuition was that she was going to be able to help me so I kept going back. After the fourth treatment and also performing the prescribed physical therapy at home I was starting to feel some lasting relief. The pain was still there, but it was greatly diminished. As weeks went by the pain started to go away completely and the last visit I had with the doctor I was released from her care. It's been 3 weeks since I seen the doctor and the severe pain and discomfort I was experiencing when I first went there is gone and has not returned. The treatments are painful but worth not having to live in constant chronic pain. Now I can go to work, play with my kids, go fishing and spend quality time with my wife. Before all I wanted to do was sit in my recliner or sleep. I was depressed and wasn't any fun to be around. Thank you Dr.Bodziony and staff for all your help and professionalism.

I came in with neck pain, and am very pleased with Airrosti's service! I am especially impressed with their telehealth capabilities. They sent me a care package that I received in record time. They have a nice app that walks you through the program. The app has exercises with videos to walk you through how to perform the exercises correctly. You fill out a survey after each exercise to report pain level and any comments that you want to share with your doctor. The app has a message function so you can talk with your doctor, and you can even have your telehealth video conference on your phone or computer if you like. I worked with Dr. Laura Bates, and she was great! She has great enthusiasm for her patients, very knowledgeable, and she ga...+ show moreve me a lot of very simple tips to monitor and fix my posture.

Dr. Hanger is AMAZING. He takes the time to listen to you. He is extremely knowledgeable. He sincerely wants to help his patients. He obviously cares about us too! He has completely fixed my significant neck pain in 2 or 3 appointments about once a year when it goes out of whack. I have a herniated disk in my neck. I tried it all…surgery consults, chiropractor, cupping, massage, acupuncture, physical therapy/exercises…nothing worked until Dr. Hanger. It does not hurt nearly as much as you may think and is certainly less painful than a traditional chiropractor or acupuncture and it is fast. Huge thanks to Dr. Hanger! It is so comforting to know when I have pain, he will fix it.

I have had neck issues for 7 years going back to 2013. I was in a car accident in the mid 80's - struck from behind when I was stationary in traffic on IH35. I believe this is the cause of the neck issue I have now. The discomfort changed my lifestyle. I could not longer cycle like I had been. I had gone to surgeon, and he wanted to operate and fuse vertebrate together as a permanent fix. I chose pain management giving up all activities that triggered an event. However, the pain chronically came back every 7 months to a year. I went to Dr. Pappas yesterday. He examined the neck area, and prescribed measures to strengthen the areas. In 24 hours, the pain has diminished by 90 percent. This visit was the second to Dr. Pappas. He also helped...+ show more me rid a nagging calf injury that I had since hiking the El Camino in Spain a year earlier. Just fantastic care and results driven medical attention from this doctor! Highest Recommendation to see him for any muscle or tendon issues a person may be having. I am of the belief, if he cannot cure them, no one can.

First of all Dr. Kregel and his staff are the most personable and hospitable people I have dealt with in the healthcare industry. If you are looking for someone that will LISTEN to what you have to say, this is the place to go to. I have a desk job and experienced horrible neck pain, especially when looking down. I feel like I tried everything to help with it, including: Posture Corrector, Ice, pain med, Inversion Table, Stretching. Some had little effect, but never lasted. The exercises that were prescribed to me plus the initial massage/adjustment really hit the spot. Something that patients must keep in mind is that it will be a lot of work on there end as well. It's up to them to implement the stretches/rehab exercises that the Docto...+ show morer prescribes. It's one of those, "this will work as good as you implement" situations. Thanks Dr. Kregal!

I became a patient of Dr. Welch and Ben after suffering progressively worsening neck, shoulder, and back pain over the past three years. I'd also had gait abnormalities from having minimal foot arches and chronic ankle/foot pain from tendon tear repair surgery five years ago. I am 47 years old, work in healthcare in physically confining environments, and also have a small business/hobby that requires repetitive motion of my arms and hands. I'd used anti-inflammatory medications and massage therapy in the past, but they were no longer effective for my pain. I was facing the possibility of giving up my dream career and favorite hobby to save myself from constant pain. I realized that my poor posture was a large part of my problem, and cons...+ show moreulted my doctor for a physical therapy referral. She recommended Airrosti as it had worked well for her, and told me that most patients usually see results in 3-5 sessions rather than 10-15 sessions doing traditional physical therapy. Though I work in nursing I'd never heard of Airrosti before, but decided to give it a try. I could not have asked for better providers or a better experience! Dr. Welch's assessments were comprehensive and Ben's education was well-structured and easy to follow. I also appreciated that the Airrosti website was thorough and easy to navigate. On my initial visit, my upper body pain was a 8/10; immediately after therapy it was a 2/10. During treatment for my ankle, I participated in a medical mission in China. I spent multiple hours on commercial plane flights, worked long days with minimal sitting, and hiked six miles in a national park mostly uphill . . . all without ankle pain. That to me was nothing short of a true MIRACLE! As a nurse, I treat my patients with the level of care I'd like to receive myself and always try to go the extra mile for them. It is extremely humbling to me to be in the care of providers with the same practice. Dr. Jonathan Welch and Ben are absolutely amazing, and I am so very thankful every day since my therapy that they gave me my life back, PAIN FREE!

I've received excellent physical therapy from Dr. Rios, and I highly recommend her as a provider for several reasons: (1) She is highly qualified: Dr. Rios got her DPT at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), which is the teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, so the professors and practitioners there are top-notch, and I really noticed the benefit of all the extra training and experience that accompany the DPT degree. (2) She will identify the root cause and fix the problem: I initially visited Airrosti because I thought I'd injured my hamstring, and several of my soccer teammates recommended Airrosti. Dr. Rios did a thorough evaluation and discovered that the real problem was my hip flexor. She took care of it in two visits, and...+ show more I noticed an immediate and profound improvement in my speed, flexibility, and agility. A few weeks later, I sprained my toe pretty badly (gimpy walk and all that!). While she was treating the toe, Dr. Rios discovered that plantar fasciitis and residual scar tissue from an old ankle sprain were exacerbating my toe injury, so she took care of everything...the toe is happy now and I don't need an ankle brace anymore! Based on the awesome treatments I'd received, I consulted Dr. Rios about a C5/C6 neck injury I'd sustained four years ago that was still bothering me. I'd already seen three physical therapists, three doctors, and two chiropractors, and was seriously considering surgery because I really wanted to get off the medication I'd been using to mask the pain (four years of gabapentin/Lyrica is not fun). After a few treatments, I'm finally off the medication and feeling great. (3) She is organized, ethical, and personable: Dr. Rios left me a message the day before my first appointment to make sure I was properly prepared for treatment, and always followed up to make sure the treatment and exercises were helping. At the beginning of each appointment, Dr. Rios will verify that the Airrosti treatment is helping you improve, and will change course if necessary. Both she and Matt are a lot of fun to be around, and they treated me like a person rather than as a patient, which helped me relax…this is VERY IMPORTANT because soft tissue therapy can be really uncomfortable - the Airrosti approach involves applying a lot of pressure for myofascial release and breaking up scar tissue, but only for a short period of time…the relief is worth it! Dr. Rios could probably lift a VW Bug with her thumb, but if you relax during the treatments she won't have to use as much pressure, so RELAX (she is also a yoga instructor and can suggest breathing exercises to help you relax if you’re having a hard time). IMPORTANT NOTES FOR THE PATIENT: (a) It's really important for you to think of Dr. Rios and Matt as PARTNERS (rather than just providers), because you REALLY need to do the homework exercises they give you to resolve your injury, so pay close attention to Matt to make sure you’re doing the exercises correctly, and then put in the work!
