Plantar fasciitis is a painful condition that can cause chronic, severe foot pain. In this video, Breanne Kelley, DC, discusses the causes, symptoms, and available treatment options for plantar fasciitis. She also explains how Airrosti treats plantar fasciitis and how we help you stay active during treatment.
Plantar fasciitis is commonly caused by weak ankle or hip joints. These weak joints put excessive pressure on the feet, leading to inflammation and foot pain. Understanding the causes and risk factors associated with this condition can help in its prevention and management.
Several common risk factors can contribute to the development of plantar fasciitis, including:
Furthermore, certain demographic factors can also heighten the likelihood of experiencing plantar fasciitis. People who may have a higher weight, are pregnant or are over 40 tend to be at a higher risk. However, plantar fasciitis can affect people of all ages and lifestyles, regardless of demographic factors.
Plantar fasciitis is characterized by various signs and symptoms that primarily affect the foot’s arch and the bottom of the heel. Chronic heel pain is a common sign of this condition. It may feel like stabbing or burning, especially when you take your first steps in the morning. However, as the day progresses and you engage in physical activity, the pain may subside.
Additionally, there are specific activities that can trigger or exacerbate the heel pain associated with plantar fasciitis. These activities include:
To effectively manage plantar fasciitis, individuals should recognize signs, be aware of activities that worsen heel pain, and take proactive measures.
Because plantar fasciitis symptoms may resemble other injuries, like heel spurs, getting an accurate diagnosis is essential. Your doctor may conduct a physical examination or order imaging tests to help determine the cause of the pain.
Should you be diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, seeking treatment as soon as possible is best. Leaving this condition to heal itself could possibly result in chronic heel pain. Your symptoms may become more severe and difficult to treat. You also face an increased risk of referred pain in the hip, knee, and low back.
Your doctor may suggest physical or manual therapy to strengthen your feet and help improve your mobility over time. Some of the most common methods used to treat plantar fasciitis pain include:
In most cases, common methods can help alleviate pain and promote recovery from plantar fasciitis. However, most severe cases may require injections or surgery. Always talk to a doctor about the best treatment for you and if you might need more serious procedures.

One year with podiatrist visits, injections and orthopedic inserts did not fix my plantar fasciitis. Four visits within three visits with Mendy and I’m 90 percent back, and better than ever! Do the at-home exercises and the results are much better than expected.

I was struggling with plantar fasciitis and saw the Airrosti folks when they came to the City of Plano Fire Department and did a complimentary session with a few of us. I scheduled follow-up visits in Allen and within three visits my plantar fasciitis was gone and has never returned. I recommended Airrosti to my husband for a shoulder issue and I too have used them again for shoulder pain. We have gotten the large roller for the back and the rubber balls for shoulder and back exercises and use them a lot paired with exercises and suggestions that we got from our office visits. We will always use Airrosti first before trying any medical treatments, as they have saved us from just having meds thrown at an issue.

I have had plantar fasciitis for years. I saw a podiatrist several years ago but the exercises were no longer helping. I contacted Airrosti and set up an appointment. The problem wasn’t just in my foot but also in my hips. I was given several hip stretches and foot extensions that I do daily. What a difference in my foot and my hips. I made it through my son's wedding in a low heel without debilitating pain. I still have a couple of weeks to go in my plan and My doctor has been helpful in walking me through each exercise.

I am happy to share my positive experience with Dr. Lear and Tammy Kinney - Certified Recover Specialist at the Fort Worth location. I had a severe case of plantar fasciitis on my right foot due to over-exertion. Dr. Lear has significant experience in curing this ailment and was very effective in working the area to relieve the pain that I had been experiencing over the past four months. Dr. Lear instructed Tammy Kinney to demonstrate the exercise programs that I was to do on my own between sessions. Tammy was very competent and knowledgeable in showing me the proper techniques which I was to use to exercise on my own. After three sessions with Dr. Lear and Tammy, my plantar fasciitis - that I had been dealing with for four months - was ...+ show moreresolved. I cannot say enough about the professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly - effective treatment that I received. I recommend Dr. Lear and Tammy Kinney to anyone suffering from physical ailments like mine as my experience far exceeded my expectations.

I came in with months-long foot pain due to plantar fasciitis, and within 4 weeks the pain has almost disappeared. I couldn't be happier with the effectiveness of the treatment and I attribute my recovery solely to Dr. Pavlich and his direction. As opposed to other injuries I've presented to doctors in the past, I feel as if Dr. Pavlich listened to my concerns 100% and allowed me to ask all the questions I wanted to. Because of this communication, he was able to pinpoint the injury from the beginning, and allow me to do the appropriate treatment/therapy from home! Thank you!

This summer I developed plantar fasciitis of my right foot. I am a very busy professional and my day at work is spent mostly on my feet. Thanks to Dr. Cully and Megan, and another lady whose name I can't recall, I am back to operating at full speed. My wife and I have also previously experienced Airrosti's great work and have directed quite a few people there to get help with their aches and pains. The consensus has been 100% approval. Thank you again!

Dr. Story did an amazing job identifying that my plantar fasciitis was actually being caused by weakness in my hips. He created an easy-to-follow plan and I've been pain-free for the first time in years. Thank you for all you've done to get me back on my bike!

I went with extreme pain on my heels from plantar fasciitis that I had been dealing with for about 1 year. I had already gone to a podiatrist and had got no relief from steroid injections. After 6 visits with Airrosti, I can now say my pain is gone. Thank you Airrosti!
