Where is your practice?

In Ashburn, VA.

Where are you originally from?

I was born in Roseburg, Oregon, but grew up mostly in a sleepy little beach town in Florida called Ormond Beach.

How long have you been with Airrosti?

11 years at the end of this year.

Describe your favorite thing about your job.

It’s really hard to just pick one thing… so I won’t! Seeing people begin to understand their own bodies better and realizing how they can work and feel better is hard to beat. Having patients come in and say, “I actually _____ without pain for the first time!” never gets old. One of my absolute favorite things is getting to tell people who are riddled with anxiety about their symptoms that we have a plan, and they don’t need to worry anymore.

Best food recommendation near your practice’s location.

Not far from my office is a little burger shop called Melt. Super sweet owners, scratch-made everything, and insanely tasty burgers. The only problem is you have to have the jaws of an anaconda to take the first bite.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a doctor of some sort. I thought I would end up helping people through nutrition. I did not expect my job would have me jamming my hands 3 knuckles deep into people’s armpits, but life’s funny that way.

Name three things you love to do in your spare time.

Exercising (especially with my wife), trying new recipes – lately it’s been baking a lot of pastries, thus the need for number 1 – and playing guitar.

What’s the oddest injury you’ve had and how did it happen?

I herniated a disc in my neck while bench pressing. I actually felt the pop with almost immediate nerve pain. 2/10, would not recommend.

If you could be in any movie, what would it be and why?

The original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is one of my all-time favorite movies. I just want to chill with Gene Wilder and bite the arm off a giant gummy bear.

What’s a hidden skill or a fact that no one would guess about you?

I can reach my arm behind my head, back around the front of my neck, and touch my ear on the same side

If you could have any superpower, which would you choose and why?

Right now, with a 6-month-old boy at home, it would be the ability to speak fluently in baby. JUST TELL ME WHAT’S WRONG SO I CAN FIX IT LITTLE DUDE!

What is your most treasured possession?

If we’re talking physical possessions, it would be my instruments. I’ve collected a lot of stringed instruments over the years, and they’ve all been little mini therapists for me in their own ways.

Finally, name one thing you couldn’t live without.

It would be hard for me to imagine a life without music; for the joy of discovering something new, reminiscing with something old, or creating something of my own. It’s been a huge part of my life from a very young age.
