Your neck is made up of many components, such as ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Because the neck has an extensive range of motion, it is susceptible to many injuries and painful conditions. In addition, the neck’s ability to function properly is directly tied to many other muscle groups, like the shoulder, back, and chest.
Additionally, if neck pain is left untreated, it can become chronic. Chronic neck pain can present itself as pain, stiffness, and soreness in the neck, perhaps with decreased mobility, that lasts more than several weeks.
One of the most common causes of neck pain is injury to the soft tissues, including the neck muscles, tendons, and ligaments within these structures. Individuals who spend most of their day sitting at work, or doing sedentary activities, have a high-risk factor for developing this condition. The risk is increased especially high for those who sit in poor posture, with the head in a flexed forward position.
In addition to muscle strains and sprains, several other common neck pain causes, such as herniated discs, Osteoarthritis (developing from the wear and tear of cartilage and bones), as well as rheumatoid arthritis. In some cases, this condition may also be caused by an injury to the cervical spine, cervical disc degeneration disease, or other injuries that put pressure on the nerve roots.
Symptoms may include:
Recurring neck pain can not only affect other parts of your body, but other aspects of your life. It can influence your sleeping habits, your ability to work, and even your mental wellbeing. People with severe chronic pain are more likely to have other areas of their life affected, such as social activities, and may spend excessive amounts of money seeking various treatments.
Traditional neck pain treatment may include over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), massages, or some form of physical therapy. A physical therapist might use several methods to treat neck pain such as heat, ice, or braces.
More severe cases may require steroid injections. If worse comes to worst, surgery may be recommended by your doctor to correct severe neck pain or injuries, especially those that may be spine related.
Chronic neck pain can be debilitating and hinder your quality of life. Airrosti providers are trained to evaluate and identify the cause of your pain. They also create a customized treatment plan to help you start on the road to neck pain relief.

I've been going to Dr. Morris anytime my neck acts up. First time was 5 years ago and I couldn't turn my head, and whether I was sitting, standing, laying down, anything, it was agony. I went to her on a recommendation and after only 1 session I went from a 10 to 4! I had 2 follow up sessions, but probably could've stopped at 2 b/c I felt great. I didn't have to come back until about 2 years ago and then again this past week. I'm a stomach sleeper and being 41, that means I get some discomfort. After one session last week, and buying the pillow she recommended for side/stomach sleepers when I asked for one, along with the PT I do at home, I'm good to go! Seriously, any aches or pains, joints or muscles, go to Airrosti for quick and lasti...+ show moreng relief!

For over 20 years, I have had constant pain all over my body. I had been to every doctor and specialist there was through the years, and no one could figure out why I was in pain. They said it must be fibromyalgia and gave me a prescription for ibuprofen. I was referred to Airrosti through my insurance last year for severe pain and saw Dr. Cummings. When I first met her, I could not even roll my neck or adjust my neck myself. She relieved that tension and I can now freely move my neck and adjust it. I was also having severe lower back and hip pain. After several visits where the pain did not subside, she recommended I see a Rheumatologist because she suspected that I had some type of auto-immune disease causing the pain. Dr. Cummings mad...+ show moree the referral, and it was confirmed that I have Ankylosing Spondylitis. I am finally receiving the medication and treatment necessary for the disease because of her. Had Dr. Cummings not listened to my concerns and taken action, I would still be sitting here miserable.

Dr. St. Dizier performed magic! Three days before going to Airrosti, I had been struggling with severe TMJ/jaw/neck pain to the point where I could not sleep for two nights in a row. After the first session, the pain went down by at least 50%, and I was able to sleep again. By the end of the second session, I was already 85% recovered. As I continued to do the exercises recommended by the doctor, my pain was completely gone by the third visit!

I found myself dealing with a debilitating neck injury from a jiu-jitsu session for over a week and a half. The pain was relentless, keeping me up at night and making even the simplest tasks a struggle. As a physical therapist myself, I knew I needed to seek treatment. I made the journey from Austin to San Antonio to seek the expertise of Dr. Arteaga, a practitioner I trust implicitly. After his comprehensive evaluation and precise treatment approach I left with less pain. The next morning, the pain had vanished completely. Only one session with Dr. Arteaga, and my pain is completely gone. Today, I stand pain-free and rejuvenated, returning to my fitness journey and the jiu-jitsu mats. Dr. Arteaga's exceptional care has not only restored...+ show more my physical well-being, but also reinforced my belief in the transformative power of skilled and dedicated therapy.

I visited Dr. St Dizier for recurring neck stiffness and pain, probably a computer-related RSI. He was able to pinpoint the muscles in question immediately and start trigger point therapy in the first session, which relieved tension to be manageable. After the second session three days later, the constant stiffness was completely gone. Although I have been using trigger point therapy myself for years, he was able to teach me new target areas and several new techniques, like pin and stretch exercises to help increase the range of motion, which have been very effective. I won't hesitate to go back to see Dr. St. Dizier again for any muscle-related issues. It is so refreshing to find a chiropractor who treats trigger points and muscles rath...+ show moreer than just cracking joints and who aims for you to helped in as few visits as possible! It was an awesome experience.

Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Garza and Airrosti Downtown. Went there with constant neck pain that had been impacting my activity level for a year which included unsuccessful experiences at 2 other PT places. Dr. Garza was able to help decrease my pain quickly and increase range of motion substantially. He clearly explained the steps and exercises to make it easy to continue at home. The exercise videos were great support when needed. Have already recommended Airrosti DT to several friends and colleagues. Thanks Dr. Garza!

I had terrible neck pain from an injury and never got long term results from getting adjusted by a standard chiropractor. Airrosti is my go-to treatment because they focus on the root cause of the issue and treat the soft tissue, in addition to adjusting you. I’m pain-free and back to normal in just 3 visits!

I experienced a very significant amount of neck pain relief after Airrosti techniques were used on my upper and lateral chest muscles. The at-home exercises work as a follow-up. Of note, I had plantar fascitis resolved about 10 yearrs ago by Airrosti. My experience is that it works quickly, if not immediately, and the results last.

I was in pain almost every day in my neck area, as an active person it was hard for me to do my every day activities I enjoyed. After my first session with Dr. Raabe I noticed a difference and the pain was almost gone. Dr. Raabe was very helpful and understanding. After several treatments I am not back to doing what I enjoy and staying active. Overall, I had a great experience and I highly recommend using Dr. Raabe for any pain or injury.

I was in tremendous pain from my neck where I could barely lift my left arm, and with less than 8 sessions he resolved my issues. Dr. Garza’s treatments were targeted, and effective. His consultative approach and recommended exercises were customized to my condition. I highly recommend his practice to anyone needing relief from muscle pain.
