What is Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy?

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment for certain musculoskeletal conditions that uses high-energy acoustic waves (shockwaves) to stimulate healing in muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.

A Provider delivers focused shockwaves to the targeted area of the body. These waves stimulate blood flow, break up scar tissue or calcifications, and trigger the body’s natural healing response. It is done without surgery or injections. It is often effective even when other conservative treatments have failed.
