Trey Hardee is an accomplished professional athlete. In the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Trey took home the silver medal in the decathlon. He also has two World Championships under his belt.  During his time at the University of Texas, Trey won a NCAA Championship and to this day is the collegiate decathlon record holder. The decathlon consists of ten events: 100 meter sprint, long jump, shot-put, high jump, 400 meter sprint, hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500 meter run. Each of these events requires mastery of the body and utilizes different muscle groups.

Importance Of Staying Pain Free

According to Trey, as a decathlon athlete it’s hard to be 100% healthy all of the time. “If your bone structure is off just a little, you’re going to damage some soft tissue,” said Trey. This soft tissue damage is what causes most nagging pain and acute injuries such as sprain and strains. These small injuries can make or break a decathlete since all of their muscles must be working seamlessly in order to perform at optimal levels. With help from Airrosti,  Trey was able to achieve this optimal level of performance and become an Olympic Silver Medalist. “If you are [100% healthy] you’re winning medals, you’re setting records,” said Trey.

Trey Hardee’s Airrosti Experience

Nine months before Trey was set to try out for the 2012 US Olympic Team, he found Airrosti. He had recently undergone elbow surgery, but was having some limited range of motion and discomfort. After meeting Dr. Brian Ellspermann at the University of Texas, Trey underwent his first Airrosti treatment. After conducting a thorough examination, Dr. Ellspermann developed a custom manual therapy treatment plan for Trey. After seeing amazing results in that first treatment, Trey went to Dr. Ellsperman once a week for six months leading up to his competition in the 2012 Olympic Games in London to ensure that he was competing at 100%.

Airrosti’s goal is to give patients their lives back. Not only do Airrosti Providers manually correct the injury, but they also educate their patients about active rehab exercises that can be performed at home in order to speed recovery and prevent future injures. These exercises, in combination with the customized manual therapy treatments, relieve the pain and resolve the issue fully so that it doesn’t return. If you’re suffering from nagging pain that is keeping you from reaching your full potential, give Airrosti a call to set up an appointment with a Provider near you.
