Meet our Provider of the Month, Charne Smuts, DC. We caught up with her to learn about where she’s from, her favorite TV show, and where she would like to visit!

Where is your practice?

Huntsville, TX.

Where are you originally from?

Witbank/Emalahleni, South Africa.

How long have you been with Airrosti?

August 2021.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Airrosti?

Patient education & helping with injuries that have not responded to other treatments.

Favorite recovery tool?

The lacrosse ball.

Best food/entertainment recommendation near your practice’s location?

There’s not a ton of options in Huntsville, but I like Carbonero (El Salvadoran food). 😄

Name three things you love to do in your spare time.

Cook, eat, and go to the dog park with the “boys.”

What’s been your favorite trip/vacation, and why?

Right when Covid hit, my then-boyfriend and I went to LA for his boards and we had such a great time doing nothing on the beach and just being in good weather.

Coffee or tea?

DEATH BEFORE DECAF! Coffee all day.

Morning person or night owl?

I am a night owl turned early bird.

What’s your favorite book, movie, or TV show, and why?

Ted Lasso; I love the writing, the positivity, and the one-liners that I quote all the time.

What’s the best gift you’ve been given?

My husband and I gave each other really nice knives 2 years ago and it’s still one of the best things we have bought for each other.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

Cheetah; I have bursts of energy followed by a lot of downtime.

What’s a piece of advice or wisdom that has had a significant impact on your life?

Leave people well. We never have any idea what others are going through so whenever you have an interaction with someone try to make it a good one.

What’s your favorite holiday?

Christmas.

What’s your favorite fitness activity?

Rec sports of any kind. Indoor soccer is what I am best at.

Introvert or extrovert?

Extroverted introvert.

What was your first job?

I was a party hostess at Putt-Putt FunHouse.

Name one thing you can’t live without.

My husband (I know that sounds super cheesy) and my animals.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done, or what’s something on your adventure bucket list?

I would love to go to Japan and experience all the food and sites there!
