Feet are flexible structures made of bones, joints, muscles, and soft tissues that allow us to perform most daily activities. From walking and standing upright to playing sports and doing gymnastics, your feet go through a lot to keep you mobile.
Your feet are made of many complex parts and act as shock absorbers for the rest of the body during movement. As a result, your feet become easily susceptible to painful injuries when they are not given proper care.
•Don’t practice proper foot mechanics when running
•Wear high heels or shoes with poor arch support
•Work or do activities that keep you on your feet for extended periods of time.
•Are overweight or flat-footed
Foot pain could be caused by a recent acute injury, such as a fall. It can also be the result of a chronic condition that has slowly gotten worse. Most foot problems are sustained from mechanical issues such as overuse, improper footwear, or arch issues such as flat feet.
•Sprains and strains
•Stress fractures
•Heel spurs
Foot pain tends to be localized in the ball of the foot, arch, top of the foot, or in the toe joints. However, an injury to the foot can also cause pain in the ankle, knee, hip, and the low back. Foot and ankle pain are often described as either sharp, dull, tingling, or burning. Some injuries that cause foot pain and inflammation can also develop other symptoms such as weakness, bruising, swelling, and tenderness.
Proper foot care can help prevent many common causes of general foot pain. If you notice your feet are aching more than usual, check your footwear first. Make sure you’re wearing shoes that fit well and provide proper arch support.
If you spend a lot of time walking or running, you may experience lingering foot soreness. Try soaking your feet in warm water or getting a foot massage to help relax and loosen up the muscles.
Surgery is rarely necessary for foot pain. Most cases are successfully treated with conservative approaches such as rest, physical therapy, Airrosti care, orthotics, and medications. Surgery may be considered for structural issues, such as severe bunions or fractures that do not respond to non-surgical treatment. A healthcare provider will determine if surgery is needed based on the specific cause of the pain.
Yes, over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help manage foot pain. If necessary, your healthcare provider may recommend stronger medications or corticosteroid injections to manage pain and inflammation. Always consult a healthcare professional before taking medications, particularly if you have other health concerns.
Yes, self-care and exercises can be effective for foot pain. Resting the foot, applying ice, and wearing supportive footwear, can help reduce symptoms. Stretching exercises for the calf, Achilles tendon, and plantar fascia, along with foot strengthening exercises, can improve mobility and support the arch.
Yes, you should limit activities that put stress on the foot, such as prolonged standing, running, or jumping. Resting and modifying activities are important to allow the foot to heal. Low-impact activities like swimming or cycling may be beneficial during recovery. An Airrosti provider can guide you on how to gradually resume activity safely.
I suffered a stress fracture in my foot around 6 months ago and have been dealing with multiple issues since the incident. Despite the fracture healing fully I have not been able to dance consistently since. Dancing has been one of my passions that my life has revolved around for the past few years, and not being able to dance has been the most depressing event I’ve ever gone through in my life. Despite seeing my Chiro, Podiatrist, and Message Therapist consistently none of them have been able to help me fully recover. I honestly thought I wasn’t going to be able to return to the sport that has saved my life. That was until I was referred to Dr. Owens who was able to explain why I was dealing with the issues that I was, and expertly ...+ show moredescribed how to rectify them. Within the first visit, I felt the immediate pain relief and their rehabilitation program has been extremely effective. He was familiar with my style of dance and many other sports and made me feel as at home as I could possibly be. I couldn’t be more grateful to have met this man and his team because they gave me hope when I legitimately thought there was none. One thing I’ve also noticed with Airrosti is there not in the business to adopt you. They want you to heal to the point where you don’t have any more pain so they aren’t trying to squeeze money out of you with multiple visits. Within the first two appointments, I’ve seen a significant difference with the pain/issues I have and have been told I only need one more visit to make sure I’m good to go rather than being recommended to go consistently over the next few months. I would recommend ANYONE dealing with a sports injury to Airrosti (and specifically Dr. Owens) since they have been the only ones to help me through this traumatic experience.

I was in severe pain for years! Between my left foot and my right hip. I knew I was going to have surgery on my foot and wanted to start therapy on my hip before. Even though it was tough work, both in and out of the office, it was worth it! I recommend Dr. Levick to anyone I know that needs PT. I can move, bend and walk with minimal pain now!

I think I stepped on a lego accidentally when my child left it on the floor after playing and got hurt in my ankle. I had a pain of around 5 (on a scale of 1 to 10) and I didn't even go to any feet doctor, just came to Airrosti and my wife is already an established patient with pain reduction success. Dr. Garcia and Coach Charles addressed my pain very promptly and now it is around 1 (just after 3 visits). Thank you very much both and everything you did helped my pain.

Training for my first half marathon and pretty new to long distance running. In my late 20’s, gradually increasing my mileage, I cross train, and try my best to prevent any injuries. Went for a run one Monday and had some significant pain in my foot. RICE’d my foot until that Sunday and went for a run. Immediately had the same pain in my foot. I’m freaking out. I have no idea how to fix this but know it’s gotta be fixed. IM RUNNING THAT HALF. Searched around for recommendations on Facebook running group, and saw Airrosti suggested more than anything. Airrosti calls me after I submit a form online, the lady looks up offices near me, and we pick one that was convenient. Insurance covers majority of the cost. SUPER EASY. Office was ...+ show moreeasy to find and I waited maybe 30 seconds at the most before Dr.Hilton came to greet me. He listens to what I say, watches me run, and tells me what he can do to help. So far I’ve done 3 visits within a two week period, and was able to run 4 miles pain free with in a week. After two weeks I ran 8 miles with no problems!

I was originally looking for another foot doctor, but my insurance said they partnered with Airrosti, and the co-pay was less than a specialist if I wanted to give it a try. Yes I was leery at first, I mean, who makes pain go away in 3 appointments..... well Airrosti does. I did have more than 3 appointments but my pain was severe. I had a prior foot surgery back in October 2018, I had a heel spur removed. When I was wearing the boot after surgery during my "healing" time, my tendons, ligaments and muscles just seemed to get stuck or lodged and didn't want to move or stretch at all. My pain was in my ankle around the back of my heel and up my leg both on the outside and inside of my leg. Yes I did have more than 3 appointments but betwee...+ show moren the pain management and the therapy with Dr. Traylor and Anne, and the taping, I have very little to almost no more pain. I will look at Airrosti going forward before going to another specialist. I have also recommended them to several co-workers as well. They are the BEST!
